The workshop with Roberta Carreri is divided into two parts. The first part will concentrate on the actor’s physical training – the awakening of the actor’s presence. The second part will focus on working with the voice, including exercises that awaken different timbres in the voice and develop the ability to perform vocal actions in space.
The aim of the workshop is to transfer, in a relatively short time, the basis for a training that can help young actors to discover their stage presence through the exploration of formalized stage behavior; and experienced actors to free themselves from their own clichés.
The workshop will focus on awareness of your own presence in relation to the space and the other actors on stage: how to be present in the action you are doing and at the same time be ready to react. The workshop will also focus on how to find the body’s axes, how to work with the “in-tensions” and how to achieve dynamic immobility. We will explore different qualities of energy in the gaze and learn to identify different points in the body from where the impulse that will take you into space starts. We will work on the creation of physical and vocal actions and how to realize them with different qualities of energy. And finally, the workshop will also focus on the aspect of vocal training with multiple body resonators and the relationship between vocal and physical actions.

Practical information:
